ALLISON NEUHAUSER

MLA, HBEM, OALA Associate, CSLA Associate, Landscape Designer, ISA Certified Arborist ON-3046A

Allison Neuhauser

Allison graduated from the University of Guelph with a Master’s in Landscape Architecture and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management. While her undergraduate degree focused on natural processes in environmental ecosystems and geomatics; she worked as a Forest Inventory Technician with the MNRF during the summers and as a GIS consultant for three years before starting her masters. It was during her work there she started working with drones on ice road improvement studies in Northern Ontario.

She holds a RPAS Operator’s Certificate – Advanced Operations and her passion for drones in landscape architecture has guided her thesis research to develop standards using the technology for landscape architects. Her thesis focused on the use of drones to supplement Visual Impact Assessments, which she brings to this role. She is honored to be given the opportunity to present her project at the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) Conference in March 2023 in San Antonio, TX.

Allison is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture’s (ISA) Ontario Chapter and is an ISA Certified Arborist. Her knowledge in arboriculture allows her to complete Tree Inventory and Preservation Plans (TIPP), Arborist Reports, and Canopy Coverage Plans (CCP). She believes that ecology and aesthetic principles can be balanced within the landscape and strives to create this balance in her work.

She sat on the OALA Council as the 2022-2023 student representative for the University of Guelph in the final year of her master’s degree. She is an associate member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA), currently working towards full membership. She enjoys being mentored on holistic design and interacting positively with the environment and community. Her passion for creativity, nature and community will drive her in her work, as well as her belief of uniting people and nature through design.

Outside of the office, Allison loves being outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and barbequing. She also enjoys cooking, baking and music, both listening and creating. She is also an avid animal lover, equestrian, and values time with her friends and family.
