Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), Junior Landscape Designer
Mark’s passion for landscape design developed while spending summers working for a local design/build firm. Mark was inspired by the entire creative process. He found it especially rewarding being fully immersed in a project and seeing it through from conception to fruition. This transformative experience led Mark to pursue a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree from the University of Guelph. Mark draws from theory as well as his rich practical experience as he approaches all endeavours on the SDG team. In his pursuit of excellence and his eagerness to continue learning, Mark has aspirations to obtain his professional designation with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects(OALA).
Mark understands first hand how the beauty of an outdoor space can shape our experience, create meaningful connections and lasting memories. Mark fondly remembers fishing trips with his grandfather at the cottage, off the pier at the Oakville Harbour, and in picturesque Scotland. Mark believes every person should have the opportunity to connect with nature.
In his spare time, Mark continues to seek opportunities to spend time outdoors whether it is biking, running, snowboarding or cottaging with family and friends. He also loves drumming.
