ALYSSA MCDONALD

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), Junior Landscape Designer

Alyssa McDonald

Alyssa Is currently in her 3rd year completing a degree in Landscape Architecture and a certificate of environmental citizenship at the University of Guelph. After graduation, she is excited to pursue a career as a licensed landscape architect under the OALA.

Through her educational background she has gained a broad knowledge of design and the environment. She also has prior experience working at a firm specializing in residential design. This gave her valuable hands-on experience, and an appreciation for smaller scale design.

Alyssa is passionate about the environment and sustainability. She enjoys exploring rehabilitation and restoration through design and believes that landscape architecture should be done with both people and nature in mind. Her favorite part about landscape architecture is the ability to express herself creatively while still focusing on sustainability and the health and wellbeing of people. By pursuing a career in landscape architecture, she hopes to provide people with more opportunities to explore and appreciate nature the way that she does.

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys painting and visual art. She also has a great appreciation for the outdoors and spends summer weekends enjoying the weather by hiking and camping.
