Humber College West Master Plan

Milton, Ontario

Description

Humber College retained the landscape architectural design services of Seferian Design Group to prepare a master plan concept illustrating the amalgamation of Humber College and Landscape Ontario to form a West Campus School of Horticulture. The site plan included dormitories, landscaping, fruit forests, parking, storm water pond, and several amenity areas. Emphasis throughout the design process was placed on creating a space that is educational for the College while enhancing the student experience through the landscape.

The project was greeted with extreme enthusiasm by the Humber College president, Region, and the Municipality. The site is focused heavily on public outreach and environmental stewardship. People attract people and bringing people to the campus was a key component in the design process. The Head Office for Landscape Ontario was also built on site in conjunction with Humber College and will be a permanent feature within the site plan.
